Symphonic Wind Ensemble
The Symphonic Wind Ensemble consists of musicians from all departments on campus. Membership is open to all students regardless of major. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble performs the finest repertoire in original band music as well as transcriptions. This ensemble performs on and off campus each semester. Rehearsals are held from 3:30 - 4:45pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Auditions are held during the first week of classes each semester.

Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble is a performance organization which plays the finest jazz repertory available. With membership of approximately 20 students, the ensemble presents concerts throughout the year on and off campus. It also performs at the Annual Edinboro University Jazz Clinic each spring. Membership is open to all students and auditions are held during the first week of classes each semester. The Jazz Ensemble rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 - 11:50am.

Advanced Instrumental Conducting
This course offers an in-depth study of the tech- niques of instrumental conducting. It emphasizes development of technical and artistic skills and the communication of those skills. Prerequisite: Basic Conducting (MUSC322).

Basic Conducting
This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of conducting techniques, including the use of the baton, expressive gestures, basic patterns and score reading in the areas of choral, wind, and orchestral music. Prerequisite: Music Theory 1 (MUSC121) or permission of the instructor.

Introduction to Music
This course introduces the student to music heard throughout the world today. It includes Western, non-Western, folk, jazz, and modern music. This course is approved for General Education – Core 1.
